Designing for Impact
My family just returned from an awe-inspiring journey to the Grand Canyon. We biked, hiked, and kayaked amidst the majestic beauty. The Grand Canyon is amazing! However, it was the quiet resilience and beauty of the trees and plants that captured my heart.
Speaking of seeing the world from a different lens, I recently had the pleasure of redesigning and developing the website for StrongerLife, a fitness gym dedicated to empowering adults aged 55+. From the moment I stepped into this project, I was struck by the passion, skill, and dedication of the founders and their team. They're not just about fitness; they're about crafting a stronger, better life for seniors.
I wore many hats for this project and loved it all! I was the UX Researcher and Designer, User Interfacer, Web Developer, and Cheerleader! I walked the client through the UX design process. I was the cheerleader for the client, the user, for accessibility, and generational design. I became a storyteller, a listener, and a designer all at once. By immersing myself in the world of StrongerLife, I gathered stories from both the client and the users, understanding their language, their aspirations, and their needs. And then, with every design choice, I crafted a digital narrative that resonated with their mission, their values, and their community.
Let me tell you, stepping into this role was an absolute joy! Harnessing my prior experience as an educator, I see my role as a UX Designer from that perspective. I create digital spaces that foster connection, empowerment, and growth.
So here's to embracing the beauty around us, both in nature's wonders and in the transformative power of digital storytelling. Let's continue to weave narratives that inspire, uplift, and engage!
